Into The Pixel 2011 now accepting submissions

Now in its eighth year, the annual celebration of video game art, Into The Pixel, is looking for submissions from talented games industry artists for the 2011 collection.

This competition isn’t the kind of place to find fan generated art dedicated to their favourite games. It’s a contest that gives recognition to some of the mouth watering concept and in-game art that elevates itself above the pack to truly stand out. You’ve probably already seen some of last year’s finalists and not even realised it. There were over 200 submissions last year, with 20 overall winners picked by a jury.

One of last year's winners - we want it for the office

Into the Pixel has toured worldwide, including appearances at E3, the Design Centre in Stuttgart Germany, the European Festival of Art in Nottingham England, The Bradford Animation Festival, Creative Artists Agency, Animfx in New Zealand, the San Jose Technology Museum, The National Cable Show, E for All, the Toronto International Film Festival, SIGGRAPH Asia, the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco and at South by Southwest Interactive. So it gets around a bit then.

All wining pieces are professionally printed, framed and hung and will be put up for their debut display at E3 in June. The deadline for submissions is April 15 and more information about Into The Pixel can be found here.
