Skyrim 1.7 patch finally hits European PS3s

Pegasus makes a guest appearance in Skyrim. Has the new 1.7 patch finally put an end to PS3 gamers’ Skyrim woes?

The long awaited 1.7 patch for Skyrim has finally hit European PS3s today after Bethesda released the patch for American PS3 owners nearly three weeks ago, and the 360 and PC before that. The latest patch also combines the previous 1.6 update that never made it to Sony’s console.

The 1.7 update brings mounted combat along with various fixes and optimisations to the PS3 version of Skyrim, and hopefully is a precursor to the Dawnguard DLC arriving on Sony’s home console. With many PS3 gamers expressing anger about the state of Skyrim on PS3, hopefully this latest patch brings it up to speed with the 360 iteration of Bethesda’s open world masterpiece.

I've been addicted to gaming since my parents bought an Atari console way back in the 70's. I progressed to the iconic Speccy, Amiga, and all the Playstation platforms. Having seen games evolve from single pixel bat and ball, to HD constructed environments, gaming has changed much from my early years. Having defeated the rock hard R-Type on the Speccy, the biggest challenge I've faced so far is putting up with the hordes of American teens spouting abuse in the current generation of consoles, noob indeed!
