PlayStation 4 playable at Eurogamer Expo

The Eurogamer Expo kicks off in September, running from Thursday 26th through Sunday 29th, and this year is going to be a big one, with the imminent release of the next generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft. The big news is that the PlayStation 4 will be playable at the Expo, which marks first time that UK gamers get to play on Sony’s new hardware. Along with the PS4, virtual reality goggles Oculus Rift will be available to try out, as well as a host of new games. Fully playable at the show will be big hitting titles like Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, The Crew, Batman Arkham Origins and FIFA 14, along with lots of indie titles in the Rezzed and Indie Games Arcade section.

Eurogamer attendees will be the first gamers in the UK to try out the PlayStation 4

Tickets are sold out for the weekend, with 70,000 expected to attend, although Thursday and Friday tickets are still available at the time of writing. Critical Gamer will be there and will report back on everything that we see and do, and hopefully bag a few free goodie bags while we’re at it.

I've been addicted to gaming since my parents bought an Atari console way back in the 70's. I progressed to the iconic Speccy, Amiga, and all the Playstation platforms. Having seen games evolve from single pixel bat and ball, to HD constructed environments, gaming has changed much from my early years. Having defeated the rock hard R-Type on the Speccy, the biggest challenge I've faced so far is putting up with the hordes of American teens spouting abuse in the current generation of consoles, noob indeed!
