Revolution Software has begun to unleash their newest game on Steam and GOG for all you lovely people; well so long as it’s PC, Mac or Linux you want it on. Their game is, of course, their Kickstarted Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse: Episode One, the latest instalment in the “dead genre” that is point and click. Taking a page out of their older books; it returns to two dimensions with some beautiful hand drawn backgrounds and your garden variety of point and click – which surely can only be a good thing.
The game sees the return of a few characters from previous games – which coincides with the return of members from the team of the original game. It’ll also mark a return to Paris as well allowing you to venture around various other destinations as dark forces from Europe’s past awaken. In Broken Sword style, it’ll contain plenty of logic puzzles, slowly unravelling conspiracies and just the right amount of humour.
Currently it’s only the first episode for £18.99 or currently 20% off on Steam (£15.19) or it’s $24.99 on GOG – and the second episode will come along early next year for the grand ol’ price of Free. If you’re waiting for a Vita version, then that should be on its way soon; or at least before the end of this year but the iOS and Mobile versions will have to wait until next year unfortunately. It should work really well and look great on all formats; so there really isn’t a definitive choice for getting it on.
