Hot off the April release of its last gaming mouse, the precision peripheral furnaces over at Logitech continue to burn bright with the announcement of the G402 gaming mouse, also known as the Hyperion Fury. They’ve certainly got their unnecessarily cool naming conventions down to a tee.
The headline on the G402 is its super speed, with Logitech claiming that it’s the world’s fastest gaming mouse capable of tracking at speeds of over 12 metres per second (500 IPS). It’s all down to the Fury’s on-board Fusion Engine technology that’s powered by a 32-bit ARM processor that allows for these reliable and accurate tracking speeds.
“We took on the challenge of creating the world’s fastest mouse in service of FPS gamers, and after three years of intensive R&D we are proud to launch a mouse that only Logitech could develop,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, general manager of the Logitech gaming business. “Its lightweight design, combined with the precision and capability of the Fusion Engine, lets you make fast, furious swipes and dominate the battlefield, proving once again that Science Wins!”
Along with its attention grabbing tracking speed, the G402 is also fully equipped with the other bells and whistles that Logitech has been bolting onto its other recent G series mice. It features on-the-fly DPI shifting up to 4000 DPI, has eight programmable buttons for single strokes or macros and a sleek black exterior that would make Batman proud.
Expect to see it in stores sometime near the beginning of August for around the £49.99 mark.
