If you’re not au fait with Torment: Tides of Numenera then let us fill you in on the details. It harkens back to those top down RPG’s of old, such as Baldur’s Gate and Planescape Torment; or mayhaps you’re more familiar with Pillars of Eternity, which is also very good. Torment is being developed by inXile Entertainment who have already successfully released Wasteland 2 (and spruced that up with a Director’s Cut version) and Torment has already got a fairly decent rating so far in Steam Early Access. Bard Jack (of all trades), has just gotten a little video. The Jack is skilled at many things, so it’s probably the ideal class for most people as it’ll offer the versatility to dip into spell-like things and combat focus, as well as giving you a few nice options for things outside of combat. It’ll still be worth checking out the other two classes though as they both offer substantially different approaches too and Torment is likely going to have enough interesting things to try out in a second playthrough.
