The best PoP game of the last generation, and arguably the best of the series to date, was Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Sumptuous visuals, perfectly judged sound design, an enthralling story that even managed to avoid a ‘happily ever after’ ending, and smooth as silk acrobatics and combat. Judging by the gameplay footage seen here, Forgotten Sands should be closer to that game than any of the others.

Heavy Rain: Flood of genius or a wet dog?
While Ian, whose contribution I have put here first, does not offer any plot spoilers â I do. So I strongly advise you not to carry on reading after Ian’s said his piece unless you’ve played Heavy Rain through at least once, if you intend to at all.
New Mafia II trailer
Guns, fist fights and Italians. All of the components that we can expect to encounter a lot of in 2Kâs Mafia II which has been in production for what seems like a painfully long time.

Just in case you haven’t been following us closely enough to have read our reviews of the first two episodes (for shame!), a Blue Toad episode runs thus: Twelve Professor Layton â style puzzles are scattered throughout a lighthearted detective mystery plotline, told entirely through cartoonish cut scenes (you also need to identify ‘whodunnit’ at the end). You can play through on your own or with up to three other people, in which case you’ll be swapping a single controller around old skool stylee.

Bioshock 2 does what we all wanted from the original and fixes you inside the lumbering, stompy boots of the Big Daddy. You have the tools, the sounds and the responsibilities that made the gentle, yet fearsomely deadly giants great.

The plot, you see, revolves around a serial killer who murders young boys. The whole thing is played almost constantly po â faced (understandably) but we shan’t delve much further into the plot here. Story is everything in Heavy Rain because, love it or hate it, everyone can surely agree that this is more story than game.

Even if you haven’t seen any, chances are you’ve at least heard of one of the Aliens or Predator movies or maybe even the ones where they crossed paths. They’ve also been involved in a number of games too and Rebellion, who already have a few under their belt, have taken another stab at perfecting the mix of xenomorphic creatures, hyper advanced hunters and squishy moving targets.
