Football Manager 2019 returns to Switch later this year

With the surprise release of Football Manager Touch 2018 on Switch, this year’s version of the football management sim is set to arrive on PC and mobile platforms on 2nd November, with the Switch version Football Manager Touch 2019 arriving slightly later towards the end of November.

The game will include 50 of the biggest footballing countries, along with 2500 clubs, and 500,000 real players and staff. With 26 fully licensed league competitions from 11 countries, and a host of individual club licenses from the world’s biggest leagues, the game sounds set to be a load of footballs. This year will also include the fully licensed Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 for the first time, with more to be announced at the end of September; along with news on new features and upgrades to the game.

We really enjoyed playing Football Manager Touch 2018 on the Switch, as you can see in our review here. Hopefully with a bit more time with the hardware, Sports Interactive will be able to iron out some of the flaws (such as the small text and icons while playing in handheld mode) and better optimise it for Nintendo’s latest console.

I've been addicted to gaming since my parents bought an Atari console way back in the 70's. I progressed to the iconic Speccy, Amiga, and all the Playstation platforms. Having seen games evolve from single pixel bat and ball, to HD constructed environments, gaming has changed much from my early years. Having defeated the rock hard R-Type on the Speccy, the biggest challenge I've faced so far is putting up with the hordes of American teens spouting abuse in the current generation of consoles, noob indeed!
