Gears of War 3 debut trailer

In one of the worst kept surprises of the year so far, last night Epic revealed Gears of War 3 on the Jimmy Fallon show in the US with a debut trailer for the game.

Nothing is really revealed gameplay wise, but the trailer shows Marcus, Dom and other Gears running across a battlefield strewn with dead, petrified people whilst being pursued by the Locust.

Also revealed are a horde of tentacle monsters that burst out of the ground to attack things fairly indiscriminately. Perhaps this is a glimpse at a new common enemy to get in everyone’s way?

The release date is still just under a year away, but Edge has reported that the official release is currently pencilled in for April 8 next year on Xbox 360.
