A brief teaser for StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, the next campaign in the series that will focus on the swarm-like Zerg race, has emerged from its dark burrow and is now available online.
The cinematic trailer shows a Terran force in pursuit of Zerg hottie Kerrigan, who, as usual, seems to be up to no good – not that we get to see any of her misdemeanours. Whatever she has done, it has upset people enough to chase her down a corridor while shooting in her general direction.
There is still no firm release date for Heart of the Swarm, but Blizzard has said that they do not expect it to infest shop shelves in 2011. See what we thought of last years instalment, StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty, in our review.
“That’s a new angle on the alien race, says Kindregan. “The Zerg are generally perceived as this single entity hive mind, and they’ve actually always have had sub commanders who are individually sentinent that bow to the greater force, whether that’s Over mind or the Queen of Blades.”
Err, that was a major story point of BroodWar, hence the name.
