Offer Deadly Premonition your patience, and it will reward you again and again. It’s rare that a game is this funny or self-aware. It’s campy and corny, with a mix of genuinely good humor and awkward, unintentional hilarity. This is somehow balanced with characters you’ll like and a murder mystery that’s truly worth solving.

Winterbottom is a nearly perfect little game. It aspires to be everything you could hope for in a downloadable game: intelligent, artistic, charming, and polished.

Just in case you haven’t been following us closely enough to have read our reviews of the first two episodes (for shame!), a Blue Toad episode runs thus: Twelve Professor Layton – style puzzles are scattered throughout a lighthearted detective mystery plotline, told entirely through cartoonish cut scenes (you also need to identify ‘whodunnit’ at the end). You can play through on your own or with up to three other people, in which case you’ll be swapping a single controller around old skool stylee.

Bioshock 2 does what we all wanted from the original and fixes you inside the lumbering, stompy boots of the Big Daddy. You have the tools, the sounds and the responsibilities that made the gentle, yet fearsomely deadly giants great.

The plot, you see, revolves around a serial killer who murders young boys. The whole thing is played almost constantly po – faced (understandably) but we shan’t delve much further into the plot here. Story is everything in Heavy Rain because, love it or hate it, everyone can surely agree that this is more story than game.

Even if you haven’t seen any, chances are you’ve at least heard of one of the Aliens or Predator movies or maybe even the ones where they crossed paths. They’ve also been involved in a number of games too and Rebellion, who already have a few under their belt, have taken another stab at perfecting the mix of xenomorphic creatures, hyper advanced hunters and squishy moving targets.

Windosill is a genuinely, undeniably, fo’ real beautiful game. On the face of it, it is a puzzle game with a striking visual style and a well-balanced physics engine.

So he ventures into Hell, where he is forced to face the true extent of his sins in order to absolve Beatrice – and, perhaps, himself.

Naturally, this involves repeatedly hitting hundreds of ugly beasties with something long and pointy.

Imagine being a kid and stuck in hell, what would you do for fun? Collect lost souls obviously, like catching bugs but a bit more sinister.
