Across the pond in the good ole US of A clever scientists are planning to use the Unity engine to reconstruct crime scenes. The idea is that by placing a crime scene into a detailed 3D environment, it will enable CSI units and other investigators to more successfully collaborate with one another.

Reuters reports that the technology could be ready to introduce to the field within the next 3 years, with North Carolina’s law enforcement agencies prototyping the scheme to assist in its development.

The Unity3D engine is currently a free project open to any and all game developers, if you fancy trying your hand at some game design, pick it up here
