Spidey fights robots in The Amazing Spider-Man trailer

Spider senses tingled at the Spike Video Game Awards at the weekend, as a trailer showing off decent chunks of gameplay from The Amazing Spider-Man game spun a web of intrigue over crowds.

It looks like some sort of robot invasion will threaten New York in the game, leaving the web slinging spandex lover with a whole lot of metal to grind. We even get a giant robot boss appear that could easily rival the scale of foes we’ve had to deal with in God of War.

A return to an open world will do wonders for The Amazing Spider-Man. Could it possibly top the very brilliant Spider-Man 2 game released in 2004? We’ll have to wait until next summer to find out.
