Tales of Monkey Island gets 2011 retail release

After the success they found on digital distribution platforms, the episodic Tales of Monkey Island will soon be available on a retail disc in the UK courtesy of Lace Mamba Global.

Due out in March next year, Telltale Games’ Tales of Monkey Island will be hitting retailers in the UK, Scandinavia, and some other European territories, as well as New Zealand and Australia.

We’ll bring adventure game fans what they have been waiting so long for: A fantastic Collector’s Edition of all the Tales of Monkey Island episodes, plus more”, says Jason Codd, Lace Mamba Global’s European Managing Director. “We’re very excited about this partnership with Telltale games and very grateful that they have chosen us to be their publishing partner in these important territories.”

Tales of Monkey Island was originally released as five episodes, each one a new chapter that makes up the latest game of the Monkey Island series. It continues the adventures of comical protagonist Guybrush Threepwood, this time involving a brush with voodoo curses and possessed pirates.

Expect to see the Tales of Monkey Island Collectors Edition for PC in shops on March 25, 2011.
