Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD trailer leaves us kickflipped

The Tony Hawk games have turned a bit mad lately, offering an unsuccessful and largely unresponsive plank peripheral that was meant to reignite the series. Instead, it turned a lot of people away and was universally panned by critics.

It looks like someone has come to their senses, with the next dosage of Tony Hawk being a HD remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. And this isn’t a lazy HD scale up either. As you can see from the trailer, the visuals look like they are proper HD.

A return to the classic roots of the series excites us a lot as we lost hundreds of hours to the first few Tony Hawk titles. The Hawkster himself mentioned to Joystiq at the VGAs that it will feature “select” levels from the first two games in the series. This can only mean good things.
