Running from December 11 through to the 13, the Intel Extreme Masters North American Finals take off in Edmonton, Canada. Cyber athlete’s from all over Canada and the USA will fight for their chance to draw from a pot totaling $53,000, with the absolute best gamers taking flight overseas for the World Championship in Germany come March 2010.

Games played will be Counter-Strike 1.6, World of Warcraft, and Quake Live. I hate to shill for a PC that, as far as I know, doesn’t directly support Critical Gamer in any way, shape, or form, but apparently the official tournament machines are considerably overpowered Alienware boxes running live with Intel i7 processors.

You can watch the event live starting tomorrow by hitting this link, or you can fully enjoy your weekend and allow me to summarize the event a little later than that. I promise pretty pictures of hopefully pretty people. Worst comes to worst, there is a Hooters in the mall.
